Sarah Garfield Berry

Sarah Garfield Berry was born in Hartford CT; she grew up in Pomfret School, CT and Princeton, MA. She is the great-great granddaughter of James Abram Garfield, and one of six children. Her father, Wyatt Garfield remembers James Rudolph Garfield, the president’s son, known to him as “Bum” as a child. Many direct descendants of President Garfield visit Cuttyhunk Island in Massachusetts each year. Growing up there was quite a collection of Garfield memorabilia in the household. Sarah was taken with the book, “Destiny of the Republic” which seemed to capture the qualities of the president that she grew up hearing about from various family members.
Sarah lives outside of Worcester, MA. Sarah has led or participated in many board organizations including the Bancroft School, The Worcester Art Museum, Tower Hill Botanic Garden, The Great Worcester Community Foundation, UMass Memorial Healthcare System, the YMCA, and Higgins Armory Museum. Presently, she is a selectperson on the Island of Cuttyhunk, in the town of Gosnold, MA.
Sarah is a Senior Advisor at Moneta Group LLC, having built a lifelong career of wealth management, enjoying the complexities of financial management and the stock market. She is married to Allen Berry and enjoys her extensive families immensely.
