Andrew (Andy) Jackson, VI, is the third great grandson of Andrew Jackson and is a lifelong resident of East Tennessee. After receiving and Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps, he obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He then graduated the University of Tennessee College of Law. After graduating he practiced law with the firm of Wortley and Jackson, until joining the Knox County District Attorney’s Office, where he spent the next twenty-one years. While an Assistant DA, he handled every type of case, from speeding tickets to murder. In 2006, he was elected to serve as a Judge for the General Sessions Court of Knox County for an eight-year term. He was reelected twice and retired at the end of 2025. Andy is a frequent lecturer on his famous ancestor. He and his wife Janet have two daughters. After retirement, he divides his time between woodworking, photography, and travel.
